Kate Moss, Lara Stone & Daria Werbowy cover Vogue Paris. Magazine refreshes.

AppId is over the quota

The coming winter 2012 fashion season is dominated by two women’s looks: masculinity and the new noir (or the new gothic, if you will). While it was the former that dominated the catwalks, it’s the appeal of the latter that dominates old media and the pictorials they create.

Vogue Paris picks up on the vibe as they give their publication a makeover and make noir the focus of their 3 September issue covers, featuring sheer clad models Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy and Lara Stone. You can find out more about the makeover and see Lara Stone’s cover after the break.

The three covers each feature pieces from Dolce & Gabbana’s autumn 2012 collection.

As WWD are today reporting about the changes to Vogue Paris;

French Vogue is getting a makeover with the September issue, which hits newsstands Aug. 23.

The magazine features a cleaner, airier design, with remodeled typography and the use of a craft-paper-like brown background — both of which hark back to its look in the Sixties and Seventies.

The new layout is the brainchild of 34-year-old Germain Chauveau, who earlier this year succeeded Johan Svensson as artistic director of the magazine. Only minor changes had been made since the previous layout, executed by Fabien Baron for the magazine’s December 2003-January 2004 double issue. Prior to that, the magazine was art directed by design duo M/M (Paris).

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
