“Fashion week is fast approaching, and I know my schedule is going to be packed. How can I save time and freshen up my beauty look between shows and on-the-go?”

Fashion week is one of my favorite times of year! The creativity and energy is palpable. Because of this, you want to be sure you, quite literally, put your best face forward. Now is not the time to experiment with makeup.

First, be sure that your skin is flawless. Start a regimen a few weeks in advance. Exfoliate regularly to help slough away dried or dull skin, providing a luminous quality to the skintone. No matter how exhausted you are, or how late it is, be sure to wash your face each night, and apply a rich moisturizer.

My number one tip for long days is to lay solid foundation at the beginning of the day to limit the need for touchups later. Start by applying primer to clean skin, this will help the foundation stick and last throughout the day. Then apply liquid foundation and touches of concealer where needed. Set with a fine dusting of translucent powder. Add a flush of color to the cheeks.

Then moving to the eyes, tidy and subtly define the brows. Then, using a wash of shimmery beige powder, sweep color over the entire lid: this gives the eyes a wide awake look. Blend a soft matte brown into the crease of the socket, focusing on the outer corner of the eye and blending down to the lash line. Highlight the browbone with a matte cream eyeshadow, curl lashes, and define with a mascara.

Lastly, a satin-touch lipgloss in a soft pink or deeper rose will enhance the lips’ natural color and make them look full and glossy.

Should you need a mid-day touch up, don’t start over. Look for multi tasking products like a lip and cheek stain to help provide flush to both as needed. Opt for the colors in your brow kit to reapply eyeshadow and redefine brows – this limits the need for both. Additional essentials include: blotting tissues to help minimize shine, a small tinted moisturizer to rehydrate and reapply foundation where needed, and Qtips to help smudge.
